Sheffield superstar Richard Hawley is returning to The Met for his third year celebrating Independent Venue Week in Bury.
Richard will be playing for two nights on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February, with tickets for these standing gigs on sale from 10am on Wednesday 11 December.
Over the last two years Richard’s IVW gigs at The Met have proved unmissable. Intimate acoustic shows with Richard and his right-hand man guitarist Shez Sheridan, plus various guests, with Richard’s neighbour and The Met favourite Martin Simpson joining the band in 2019. Setlists have been packed with hits and surprises, and of course littered with Richard’s mixture of humour, warmth, and just a little dry Northern realism.
Support on both nights will be from up-and-coming Sheffield singer-songwriter James Leesley AKA Studio Electrophonique; an artist whose homemade 4-track-recorded EP ‘Buxton Palace Hotel’ has caught plenty of ears since its September release, and who is set to have a big year ahead in 2020.
The Met’s regular supporters can log in to book tickets for Richard Hawley now, with tickets on general sale from 10am on Wednesday 11 December. There are around 50 balcony seats available for each night, with all other tickets as general admission for standing. Wheelchair users and their companions can book tickets for our accessible viewing area by calling the box office on 0161 761 2216.

Other Independent Venue Week gigs on sale already at The Met are Turin Brakes on Friday 31 Jan (last few tickets remaining) and, on Thursday 30 Jan, Della Mae; the charismatic all-female roots band from Nashville making a much-anticipated return to UK touring in 2020.
