The much-loved Bury Beer Festival is returning to The Met, bigger and better than ever, this November.

The two day celebration of Bury’s ‘Beer Pioneers’ has long been a favourite of the region’s drinkers, and returned here last year.

Our venue will be taken over by bars from each of Bury’s own craft breweries on the 8th and 9th of November:

• Brewsmith: the family-run microbrewery based in Ramsbottom who make brilliant ales with a big following.
• Brightside: Award-winning beers from Radcliffe, known for innovation and quality, sold nationwide.
• Deeply Vale: Family business established in central Bury in 2012; real ale made with real passion. Drink deeply!
• Irwell Works: The team from the Rammy landmark brewery & tap join us again: brewers of festival favourite Marshmallow Unicorn Stout.
• Silver Street: Born in the basement of the nearby Clarence pub, this local brewery is on the up-and-up with ‘Freetown’ keg beers and innovative limited edition ales.
• Strata: We’re delighted that this brand new ‘cuckoo’ brewery based in Ramsbottom is bringing a range of their exciting, contemporary craft cask ales to the festival.

Our CEO Victoria Robinson said “We’re delighted to host Bury Beer Festival at The Met again this year.

“A lot of hard work goes into the festival, but it’s a brilliant way to get people to use and experience our building in a unique way.

“We want the festival to shine a light on the brilliance of our local breweries, who should be a real source of pride for the town.”

All of the featured Bury breweries began life as microbreweries; passion projects from dedicated brewers whose continued hard work means Bury beer is now regularly drunk by beer lovers and pub-goers across the country. With other guest breweries and a series of ‘Meet The Brewer’ sessions to be announced, it will be a chance for beer-lovers to test the local product against fine guest brews from around the country.

A programme of live music, DJs and entertainment will be revealed in the coming weeks, contributing to a uniquely sociable and welcoming atmosphere that the festival is known for. As ever there will be the chance for drinkers to vote for Bury’s ‘Beer of The Year’, won at the last two festivals by Irwell Works’ uniquely-named Marshmallow Unicorn stout.

Food at the festival will be provided by Automatic, with fast, fresh cooking served from the recently-relaunched downstairs bar ‘Wanderlust’ to keep festival-goers fuelled throughout each session.

Public tickets are available in advance now for beer festival sessions starting at 12pm and 6pm on Friday 8 November, and 12pm and 6pm on Saturday 9 November.
