Due to popular demand The Met is pleased to announce an extra performance of Victoria Wood – A Celebration on Saturday 18 May.
Directed by The Met patron Noreen Kershaw, the variety show featuring a selection of Victoria Wood’s friends and colleagues performing sketches and sharing memories of the Bury-born star initially sold out in just 10 minutes.
Now the cast, featuring Thelma Barlow, Duncan Preston, Sally Bankes and more, will perform an additional matinee, starting at 3.30pm. Profits from the show go to Bury Hospice.
This event takes place as part of a weekend of celebrations of Victoria Wood’s impact and influence in Bury. A statue unveiling will take place at Library Gardens on Friday 17 May at 2pm. Bury Art Museum will be opening their doors on Sunday 19 May from 12-4pm (in addition to regular opening hours) for visitors to enjoy the gallery’s exhibition of Victoria’s scripts, notebooks, awards and costumes.
