Originally from New York, Richard Shindell now divides his time between Buenos Aires, Argentina and New York’s Hudson Valley. He is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be.

Starting his career in New York City, he has now released  a number of much lauded albums including Reunion Hill and Somewhere Near Paterson. In 1998, Shindell joined forces with his friends Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky to record an album of covers under the guise of Cry Cry Cry which further enhanced his reputation.

His songs have attracted many fans including Joan Baez who has covered his song, Reunion Hill, as well as touring with Show of Hands who are great admirers of his talents.

He’s been a rare visitor to the UK of late – catch him while you can.
