Martyn Joseph is as performer like no other. “The Welsh Springsteen” as he’s been called is a jaw dropping guitar player with a unique percussive style and a show stopping voice. His songwriting speaks of the simplicity and complexity of the human condition, with a social commentary that empowers and speak for many.

Since last appearing at The Met as part of the Sweet Liberties project, which marked the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, he has played over 170 shows worldwide and been nominated for Hardest Working Artist at the UK Independent Music Awards. His song Nye celebrating Nye Bevan, the author of the NHS, had BBC national airplay on Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Show and Tom Robinson’s 6 Music show.

“One of the most charismatic and electrifying performers in Britain today…tough and passionate” Tom Robinson BBC 6music

“Intelligent and enlightened songs are both energising and provocative… from subtle tenderness to growly indignation. A Welsh national treasure” MOJO
