Chuck Prophet blew out of San Francisco and we’ve been grateful for the wind of change ever since. As a member of Green on Red, he managed to raise the profile of what became known as Americana music through the 1980s. Since those days, he’s released a series of albums under his own name with the able assistance of The Mission Express. These records have established a loyal following that knows a good thing when they hear it. He now returns in support of his latest release, Night Surfer.
“He’s a Genius. If you buy one record, buy his”
Lucinda Williams
“Prophet’s records always seem to find a way into best-of lists. No one layers country, rock and 1960s soul idioms better”
The Times
“Lovely, incantatory and mysterious. God bless Chuck Prophet”
Stephen King
“a really cool artist – Chuck Prophet”
Ryan Adams
The Dreaming Spires, brothers Robin and Joe Bennett, have long straddled a line between the influence of roots music, classic 60s pop and a youthful love of indie rock from both sides of the Atlantic. They will be playing an acoustic set.
