Winners of Best Group at the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards

The Young’uns perform without set-lists, relying on infallible instinct and their unique rapport with audiences to deliver a killer show. The Teesside trio may have established their fast-growing reputation in the folk world with sublime a cappella harmonies but they are a force of nature on stage, beguiling audiences with irrepressible humour, bold vocals, gripping storylines and innate musicality.

2014 saw Sean Cooney, Michael Hughes and David Eagle celebrate ten years playing together, their music firmly rooted in Teesside, specifically Stockton, where they first joined forces at the local folk club. Their latest album Never Forget was released on 17 March 2014.

“This irrepressible Teesside trio have, through their gritty and no-nonsense stance and entertaining, in-yer-face stage presence, fast become a must-see/must-book act at folk venues the UK over.” – fRoots

Support comes from fascinating young songwriter Inti Rowland.

“There’s a real depth and sense of sincerity to Inti Rowland’s work, a kind of quiet grace that sits at the core of his songwriting and slowly seeps out of his creations… expect big things” Gold Flake Paint
