Jim Diamond was a member of Scottish band Gully Foyle in the early ’70s, the Alexis Korner Band and Bandit in the late ’70s, and PhD in the early ’80s, but it was as a solo artist that he reached his peak – with a string of hits including I Should Have Known Better and Hi Ho Silver – the theme song to popular ITV detective show, Boon.
Heavily influenced by the voices of Ray Charles and Otis Redding, Jim joined his first band at the age of 14 and has enjoyed a life in music ever since. In a review of his latest album, City of Soul, (2011) he was described as a “timeless jewel in the crown of Scotland’s musical heritage”
