Featuring the music of The Cure, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes and Gorillaz, The Ukulele Project bring their ‘uke invasion’ to The Met.
The band that dares to be small takes on a grand tour. From Elvis to Elgar and ‘Greensleeves’ to Gaga, The Ukulele Project take on a medley of madness armed with only Bonsai guitars, singing, plucking and stomping their way through a multitude of crowd pleasers – Stereophonics, Debussy, Queen, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, Enya, Electric 6, Scissor Sisters, Kasabian and Dolly Parton, to name but a few.
The ukulele was invented in Hawaii in the 19th century and has long been considered the comic punch-line of the musical world. With a sell-out run at Edinburgh Fringe 2010, The Ukulele Project succeeded in proving that the world’s happiest instrument is anything but trivial. Prepare to be uked!
