Richard Darbourne Ltd in association with Preston Guildhall presents the Two Bit Classics production of Pride and Prejudice

Adapted by Joannah Tincey

Directed by Abigail Anderson

Designed by Dora Schweitzer

A highly praised and sparkling interpretation of one of the most loved stories of all time, this is a must for Austen fans and those looking for a fresh and surprising new piece of theatre.

Over 200 years after the nation’s favourite novel was first published, Two Bit Classics’ adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is ‘simply the most entertaining and intellectually stimulating evening spent in the theare’ Hexham Courant. Every word that is spoken is Austen’s. Every moment is pure joy.

This production – which premiered at the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds – offers a brand new interpretation of one of literature’s great love stories. Two actors juggle the full gamut of Austen’s characters and locations; from the Meryton Assembly to the grounds of Pemberley; from Mrs Bennet’s nerves to Mr Wickham’s misdeeds. And of course Darcy and Lizzy, who move from instant dislike to something altogether more affectionate, all in just two hours.

Fun, fast and romantic – this chance to catch the five Bennett sisters and the whole world of Austen brought to life by just two actors is a treat not to be missed.

‘A uniquely theatrical experience…an acting tour de force’
