The Met is delighted to again be part of Independent Venue Week, the UK’s annual celebration of the nation’s independent music venues and the people who run them.

As a proudly independent venue, The Met has participated in the event every year since 2018. We’re delighted to be taking part again this year by hosting some very special gigs headlined by Richard HawleyTurin Brakes, and Della Mae, alongside presenting shows from exciting up-and-coming artists Chloe Foy and Anna McLuckie.

Every year Independent Venue Week brings together a string of vibrant small music venues to create a series of remarkable gigs across the country. They help to raise the profile of the incredible work these small venues do, year-round, to provide audiences with memorable experiences. These venues are the backbone of the live music scene in this country. They give artists their first experience of playing live in front of an audience and build a following. For fans small venues are places where they can get up-close to artists who, one day, may well be playing stadiums and festival main stages.

So music fans, we challenge you to help us keep music live: please come back to The Met and see an artist who is new to you!
