Following on from playing at Ramsbottom Festival 2014, Salford based singer-songwriter and poet Vinny Peculiar (aka Alan Wilkes) comes to Bury.

“The Tony Hancock of Pop. An undersung national treasure”– Uncut

Since 2002 Vinny has released nine albums of ‘outsider pop’ music to great critical acclaim and collaborated with the likes of Bill Drummond (KLF) and Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) artistically and musically with ex members of The Smiths, Oasis, Aztec Camera and The Fall.

His live solo shows are song and poem based where witty words and self-deprecating monologues prevail, often compared to Jarvis Cocker, John Cooper Clarke and EELS. He has toured Europe and the US, opening for the likes of British Sea Power, Edwyn Collins and Luke Haines and is a former compere on the Glastonbury Acoustic Stage.

Vinny’s latest album, The Root Mull Affect was released this March to rave reviews.
