For the third year running, The Met are hosting a very special event to celebrate International Women’s Day.
This year our wonderful steering group are taking over the building over the whole of Saturday 8 March with creative workshops, health and wellbeing support and a fantastic party in the evening featuring performances from local musicians, poets and storytellers.
This year’s event is split into three ‘phases’
New Moon 10am-1pm This will feature a series of bookable creative workshops alongside a creative play space from Earlybird Project for babies and young children to be looked after safely while mums/ carers try their hand at a new skill and exercise their creative muscles.

Crescent Moon 2-5pm A health and wellbeing-led afternoon marketplace of local female-owned businesses and support services providing advice, support and handmade products alongside holistic treatments. FREE to attend, treatments may be charged by providers.
Full Moon 7.30-10.30pm An ‘all-Queens’ party featuring a special Open Mic performance space curated by the women from the Northern Female Voices project plus live music and a DJ for you to dance your socks off. FREE.
